Choosing a builder was no easy task, and I feel like we hit the jackpot with Thornberry Custom Builder. TJ and Jackie are a husband/wife team who truly care about their clients and their homes. Their architect worked with us to design a home that included everything we wanted and flows beautifully. Before construction began, our style and design choices were discussed so they could give us an accurate quote. The project manager was consistently onsite and met with us in person at the site once per week, sometimes more often. He took all of my nonstop calls and questions professionally and respectfully. We had them put an RV garage addition onto our home, and we knew from the first time we met with their team, that they were the ones we wanted to run and oversee our project. They are great about communicating with the home owners, sending pictures, getting their subs to the project on time and keeping the place clean during construction. However, from the beginning of our home building journey, Thornberry made the entire process enjoyable and pain-free. Diane set up all our appointments with the vendors. Each vendor we worked with was helpful and professional. The whole team has been wonderful to work with and would always respond promptly to any questions we had. Our project manager, David, was absolutely the best! When we needed guidance or suggestions, he always had informed opinions to offer. He was the perfect tie-breaker when my husband and I had differing positions on a decision. David based his opinion on what our taste was and on the outcomes we were looking for. Emily Gibb Rickard2729 days agoMy dream home was built by Thornberry Custom Builders in July 2016. I wanted features not common on houses in the East Englewood area: a full wrap around porch with a large detached garage, kitchen cabinets that go all the way up to the high ceilings, and metal roof with foam insulation to just name a few things. I also wanted it built at the back of the 1.46 acre lot by the canal, not by the road and to keep as many trees as possible that were on the lot; I don't think anything other than the pesky Brazilian pepper trees were removed. TJ was a joy to work with, providing guidance and keeping my mind at ease throughout the whole process. He made me keep the future in mind as I built this, which has been a true blessing as I have since gotten married and had a child! My husband and I had a dream. Our dream was to retire and build a home in southwest Florida, far, far away from the Buffalo New York area where we had lived all of our lives.
We were so very lucky (or I would say blessed) to find TJ. He was referred to us by a friend of a friend who is in the construction business and his statement was to the effect that if he were to build a house, TJ Thornberry was one of two people he would choose; that statement spoke volumes to us.
